Hill+Knowlton Strategies China celebrated a double win from this year’s Holmes Report Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards. The gala ceremony took place at the Island Shangri La Hotel in Hong Kong, where H+K picked up accolades for campaigns in the Marketing to Youth and Food and Beverage categories, for clients Huawei Honor and Coca-Cola.
H+K’s winning Marketing to Youth entry, “A Contest of Man vs. Machine”, was an intensive, digital campaign for Huawei Honor. H+K China devised a creative online reality show featuring popular internet celebrities and participant-generated content to ultimately highlight the standout battery life of Honor’s 5C handset. Broadcast on one of China’s most popular online streaming platforms, the reality show campaign reached more than 47 million live-stream viewers, generated over 100 related online articles, and drove a continuous stream of commentary and buzz building up to Huawei’s big sales day on 18th June.
In the Food and Beverage category, H+K presented an integrated campaign building up to the Rio 2016 Olympic torch relay to highlight Coca-Cola’s long running support for the Olympics. Consumer engagement sat at the heart of the Coca-Cola Olympic Torchbearer campaign, from crowd sourcing for torchbearer candidates, to video and picture stories. KOL and celebrity outreach, events, and a strategic partnership with Didi, China’s leading Taxi App, seamlessly integrated online and offline activations to ensure a successful campaign that achieved more than 769 million media impressions.
Hill+Knowlton Strategies China President and CEO, QC Liang, comments, “We are delighted that our work for Coca-Cola and Huawei has been recognized at the 2016 Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards. These campaigns reflect how media behavior and storytelling models are evolving in China and the importance of generating diverse content across multiple channels to successfully engage consumers. I’m incredibly proud of the team’s hard work and creativity”.
