Our teams have been globe-trotting as far as Uruguay and Australia this week with their energy and sports clients. Read on to find out what they’ve been up to.
Last weekend our sports team worked with H+K Sydney to activate HSBC’s sponsorship of the Sydney Sevens as part of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series. The sports team in London made the trip down under to work with the team on a number of activities including the launch of a Women in Sport survey and the promotion of the HSBC Beach Club which saw a portion of the stadium turned into a real life beach for the duration of the tournament. H+K also managed the HSBC Sport social channels across the week, reacting to the on-pitch action in real time.
Meanwhile in South America, the UK sports team are partnering with World Rugby to promote the 2019 Rugby World Cup International Trophy Tour. It will visit 18 markets across 5 contingents over the next 18 months in the countdown to the tournament in Japan in Sept 2019. It kicked off in Uruguay this week, where the first visit was to the Santiago Vazquez INR Prison in Montevideo, with Caimanes inmates team up against the Anejos XV in a friendly match; the UK sports team collaborated with H+K Buenos Aires, inviting select media to go inside the prison, watch the game and snap some shots of the rugby players posing with the Webb Ellis Cup. Last week Claudia Richard and Rachel Kelly from the Energy + Industrials team attended BHGE’s 19th Annual Meeting in Florence, where they provided on the ground support for event management, media relations and social media execution. The event gets bigger and better each year, and this year saw more than 1,200 attendees and 15 journalists from Bloomberg, Reuters and CNBC, alongside top tier industry trade publications walk through the door. The H+K team facilitated 36 media interviews with BHGE and third party executives over the course of two days, breaking the record for last year, and saw an influx in social media engagement over last year.
Meanwhile back at H+K London, the behavioural science team SMARTER hosted a reading group where they discussed a psychological phenomenon called the ‘torture empathy gap’, and the E+I team set up a clothes swap event as part of our Do Nation initiative to form eco-friendly habits.
