We are pleased to announce the appointment of Drew Levinson, an experienced media and crisis strategist and former CBS News correspondent, to senior vice president in our U.S. media relations practice.
Based in New York, Levinson reports to Amy Rosenberg, H+K executive vice president and U.S. director of media relations. In this role Levinson will concentrate on media strategy, executive media coaching and crisis management working across H+K practices.
“The creation of compelling content to drive effective and enduring engagement with stakeholders has never been more important,” said Andy Weitz, U.S. president and CEO of Hill+Knowlton Strategies. “As an accomplished broadcast journalist, Drew understands the critical elements of compelling content and how to engage an audience. I am delighted to welcome him to Hill+Knowlton Strategies.”
Levinson spent 15 years as a correspondent for CBS News covering national and international events including the World Trade Center terrorist attacks; the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; multiple U.S. presidential campaigns; Hurricane Katrina; the General Motors bankruptcy; the Daimler-Chrysler merger; and the Firestone recall. Drew has also conducted numerous interviews with world and business leaders including U.S. President Bill Clinton and Richard Branson.
“I am excited to join Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ media relations practice; having worked alongside the H+K team both as a journalist and as a client counselor, I was impressed with its media insights and its clear role as clients’ trusted advisors,” said Levinson. “I look forward to working with Amy to grow H+K’s media relations practice and help H+K’s clients navigate today’s rapidly moving and complex media environment.”
For the past three years, Levinson has run his own consulting and media coaching firm, Drew Levinson Media, with a particular focus on working with C-suite executives on effective media engagement in critical situations, including crises. He has worked with global and Fortune 500 companies across a wide variety of industries. Levinson holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
