NEW YORK, 1 August 2012 – Hill+Knowlton Strategies announced today the appointment of Susan Thiele as U.S. healthcare practice leader, effective immediately. Thiele will continue to be based out of the firm’s New York office.
Thiele has been with the H+K Strategies healthcare group for more than two years helping healthcare companies navigate the opportunities and challenges of an evolving communications landscape. She has deep expertise in building strategic communications platforms that include brand positioning, audience activation, stakeholder engagement, and crisis and issues management. Thiele has counseled numerous healthcare clients at H+K including Amgen, Merck and Otsuka Pharmaceuticals.
Prior to joining H+K Strategies, Thiele held senior positions at several top communications firms where she oversaw product and corporate public relations initiatives for companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. Over the years she has acquired experience working with clients large and small across a broad range of medical and therapeutic areas including neuroscience, rheumatology, pain management, gastroenterology, oncology, women’s health, ophthalmology, infectious disease and medical device/diagnostics.

Susan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from the State University of New York College at Fredonia.
