The race for New York City Mayor is taking place against the backdrop of two critical trends: the fast-evolving use of digital media to engage voters and the increasingly central role of digital startups in the New York economy.

This raises important questions for political and digital media observers. Which candidates have done the best job engaging with New Yorkers through social media? What was the correlation between digital media outreach and Primary Day performance, and what does this suggest for the general election? Finally, what are the digital advocacy lessons for New York business leaders and policymakers?

Below is a snapshot of the data collected by our digital team from July 16-August 25. For the complete findings, register to join us at Baruch College on September 19 for a panel discussion.
